You didn't hold their job against them, you knew it was for the best because they wanted to keep you safe. To be fair they were extremely busy working the desk job and being the only child you had to come to the terms with the fact that they might arrive a little later than usual for dinner.
It’s just the time you can spend with them is a little. Now that's not saying that your parents were the worst, on the contrary they were the nicest people you've known and they've done a good job of raising you. You didn't have that experience, and even if you did, they were moments few and far between. It's not like your parent's always managed to pick you up at the end of a school day. Your life up until this point in time was anything but normal. It's practically a human emotion that will stick around the worst of times, and will never go away until a sense of normality is achieved. Negative words happen to do that, they always evoke a strong sense of anguish and loneliness. For such a simple word it evokes an overwhelming sense of dread and fear. If they have to leave a body count behind then so be it, after all would one rather die by end of a gun or at the mercy of a killer notebook? No matter how crazy it sounds, you're just going to try to live, but the things you think you no aren't what they seem. They never hesitated to give justice to those who deserve it so damn much. By the celestials above no one expected that she would create the most dangerous vigilantes to exist. However Fate never anticipated the possible consequences of her actions. Fate is a cruel mistress that keeps stabbing you in the back. Ironically she was pitiful and gave you people to care about. Better yet fate decided to take away something you held so dear to you. Sadly things have never been the same since 'the invasion'. But you live in the suburbs of Hell's Kitchen, so nothing should affect you. Not when a billionaire playboy decided to tell the world those four famous words. You knew the world would not be the same.
